	On Sunday, December 18th , from 3:30-5 p.m. at the Clubhouse, Santa will greet the children of Tarrington, read them some special holiday stories and listen to their Christmas wishes. Cookies and milk will be served and everyone is invited to meet Santa.
	Census 2010 is Almost Here! - During the next several months, the U.S. Census Bureau will be conducting the decennial census. Temporary Census Bureau field workers will be in Chesterfield neighborhoods through August to deliver questionnaires, collect information from those who have not returned their census questionnaire, and verify addresses. All census takers carry official government badges marked with their name and you may ask them for a picture ID from another source to confirm their identity. If you still are not certain about their identity, you can call the Regional Census Center (800-923-8282) to confirm they're employed by the Census Bureau. Census Bureau workers will NEVER, under any circumstances, ask to enter your home.
	Free Home Security Assessment - Offenders are opportunists. Often we become complacent and make it far too easy to be taken advantage of. Crime prevention involves being educated as well as proactive. We must plan against crime by thinking like a criminal, and often that does not come naturally. And that is where the Chesterfield County Police can help. The police department offers free home security assessments to help prevent you from becoming a burglary victim. 	DATE CHANGE! The BOD meeting date has changed. The Tarrington Homeowners Association Board of Directors will meet on October 19 at 9:00am at the Clubhouse. All residents are invited to attend. Questions, comments or concerns can be shared with our resident representative prior to the meeting.
	Tarrington Babysitter Directory - Tarrington resident Kristin Gray is leading the effort to create a Tarrington Babysitter Directory. Any Tarrington teens interested in being listed in the directory can send their name, age, experience, address and phone to Kristin Gray (login to see contact info). Please note, this directory will only be shared with Tarrington households.
	Chesterfield County Backflow Inspection Requirement - Chesterfield County requires all homeowners to have their backflow device on their irrigation system checked annually. All the test consists of is hooking up pressure valves and a gage to the backflow device and makes sure the stopper inside works properly. This test should only be done by state certified testers. Residents should ask testers for their state issued certification card before having the work performed. Fees for this test can vary, several estimates are recommended. Questions can be directed to the Chesterfield County Utilities Department hotline number at 748-1280.
	Now Forming: Tarrington Infant, Toddler, and Preschool Playgroups - The Tarrington Social Committee is excited to organize Tarrington Playgroups. The groups are forming now and will be organized by age (siblings always welcome) and playgroups will meet at a variety of locations - rotating member's houses, playgrounds and the pool this summer. A playgroup for working parents will be offered on the weekend. The members of each group will determine the best day/time to get together and whether the group would meet weekly or bi-weekly. 	Neighborhood Notice - Please do not tape things to the lightposts, streetsigns or posts, etc. as the tape leaves remnants which are very hard to get rid of. Also, any signs put up, such as garage sale signs, should be removed immediately after the event.
